Introducing Tsubaki’s Plastic Top Chain in a Low-Friction and Wear-Resistant HG Specification
Featuring a greater than 20% improvement in wear resistance over conventional products
On January 1, 2014, Tsubakimoto Chain (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan. President: Isamu Osa) introduced Tsubaki’s Plastic Top Chain in a low-friction and wear-resistant HG specification that offers a greater than 20% improvement in wear resistance over conventional products.

Tsubaki offers a wide variety of plastic chains to suit the needs of diverse industries. Although beverage production lines use large quantities of lubricant to ensure smooth transport of beverage containers, areas where lubricant cannot be used — such as caser lines — sometimes develop problems from wear debris generated during processing. To meet the need for reduced use of lubricant and reduced generation of wear debris in lubricant-free applications, we have developed a low-friction and wear-resistant HG specification. This product offers improved wear resistance compared with conventional low-friction and wear-resistant products.
This product features a greater than 20% improvement in wear resistance over conventional products.
- By adopting our own proprietary material, we’ve reduced the generation of wear debris by 20% compared to our conventional product and 30% when compared to competitors’ products.
- This product offers the same low frictional resistance and allowable
tension as conventional products, but features improved wear resistance. You
can replace your plastic chain with our HG specification product without
changing the usage environment or updating your conveyor.
(To suppress the generation of wear debris even further, we recommend replacing the rail that supports chain travel with PMW Plastic Rail, a product compatible with the low-friction and wear-resistant specification.)

- Processes that cannot use lubricants (caser lines)
- High-speed, single-row conveyors (inspection lines, printing lines, single-filers)
- Processes requiring dry lubrication
