Tsubakimoto Chain Introduces the New Tsubaki AGV, an automatic roll paper feeding system

Equivalent to the high-performance automated paper-feeding systems available for new plants, our New AGV can be installed even in existing plants.

On November 6, 2007, Tsubakimoto Chain Co., (located in Osaka, Japan under President Tatsuhiko Mimoto) will introduce the New Tsubaki Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), an automatic roll paper feeding system developed by Tsubakimoto for newspaper printing plants.

New Tsubaki AGV

Tsubakimoto already offers the Roll Paper Feeding AGV for new automated newspaper printing plants and the compact Auto Dolly Super (ADS) for updating existing plants with automatic roll paper feeding system. These systems introduce automation, reduce labor, and improve the work environment. Navigating by means of an embedded induction line, the Roll Paper Feeding AGV offers automatic paper web loading/unloading and residual core recovery. The ADS navigates by means of magnetic tape induction.

Our New AGV combines the functions of the above two products. By applying the expertise we have nurtured through development of these products, we have succeeded in creating a compact, lightweight, and improved AGV that utilizes a full-featured dolly. This new product is ideal for updating of new printing plants.

We plan to exhibit our New Tsubaki AGV at JANPS2007, the 19th Japan Newspaper Production Show at Tokyo Big Sight, beginning November 6 (Booth 32 in Hall East 6).

Features

The feature-packed New AGV can be installed in either new or existing plants. It offers the following features not available with the current models of our conventional Roll Paper Feeding AGV and ADS products.

Advantages over our Roll Paper Feeding AGV (current model for new plants)

  • Compact and lightweight design
The compact and lightweight dolly reduces power consumption and accommodates a smaller paper-feeding floor.
  • Simple installation and easy route changes
The magnetic tape induction method provides simplified installation as well as easier modification and expansion of existing routes.

Advantages over our ADS (current model for retrofitting existing plants)

  • Full on-board functions including automatic paper web loading/unloading and residual core recovery
The auto roll-handling function handles loading and unloading of paper webs and residual cores without a traverser.
  • Significantly increased running speed
Our New AGV operates at twice the running speed of the ADS. This significant increase in running speed results in a high feed capacity with a smaller number of vehicles.
