Compact, Precision Extra Super Duralumin Couplings
Tsubaki Emerson introduces New Beam Couplings
Absorption of parallel and angular misalignment enables easy attachment
Introduction
Tsubaki Emerson Co. (President: Tadashi Ichikawa; Headquarters: Nagaokakyo, Kyoto; A subsidiary of Tsubakimoto Chain Co.) has developed a new series of compact, precision beam couplings that are capable of absorbing large axial misalignment by means of helical slits. Sales of the new product line will commence January 5, 2009.
Tsubaki Emerson Beam Couplings
Tsubaki Emerson provides a wide range of couplings from general purpose to precision models. In the compact, precision coupling field, disk couplings with enhanced torsional stiffness for servo motor shaft applications, and plastic rubber couplings for general purpose applications are available.
The new beam couplings are compact precision couplings suited for use with encoder shafts and other applications that require light loads and easy centering. Helical slits on each side of the couplings enable them to absorb large axial misalignment from both shafts. This makes attachment work even easier for the customer.
Features
- Excellent absorption of axial misalignment from both shafts
Helical slit construction absorbs parallel misalignment of up to 0.76 mm (a 150% improvement on similar competitors' products) and angular misalignment of up to 3°. - Light with low moment of inertia
Body employs extra super duralumin construction to achieve light weight and low moment of inertia. - Environmentally-friendly product (RoHS compliant)
Complies with the RoHS directive, an EU directive restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. - No backlash
Applications
Perfect for applications involving light loads with large axial
misalignment
(e.g. Encoder shaft coupling in compact inspection devices and
manufacturing/transporting equipment for IT devices, Stepping motors, etc.)
