Introduction
Tsubaki Emerson Co. (President: Tadashi Ichikawa; Headquarters: Nagaokakyo, Kyoto; A subsidiary of Tsubakimoto Chain Co.) has developed the 45 Frame Power Cylinder, an environmentally-friendly servo type linear actuator that is the industry's first power cylinder to support 50 to 200W compact servo motors. Sales of the new product will commence February 1, 2009.
Environmentally-Friendly Servo Type 45 Frame Power Cylinder
Conventionally, most compact, high-speed linear actuators have been pneumatic. However, recently there have been more and more calls for environmentally-friendly, energy-saving products that do not require compressors or other ancillary equipment.
To meet these needs, Tsubaki Emerson has developed the 45 Frame Power Cylinder, a compact, high-precision linear actuator that supports 50 to 200W compact servo motors made by a variety of manufacturers. The new power cylinder contains a ball screw developed with proprietary Tsubakimoto Emerson technology, which maximizes servo motor performance despite its compact frame size of only 45mm square. It boasts a maximum speed of 300mm/s - an industry first for electric linear actuators of its size. The 45mm square frame is compact, yet provides high-precision and high-efficiency.

The 45mm square frame contains a high-performance, 12mm external diameter ball screw developed in-house by Tsubakimoto Emerson. This has enabled the size of the unit to be kept small while also providing high-precision with stopping accuracy of ±0.1mm and repeated stopping accuracy of ±0.02mm. - High-speed operation and high efficiency
High-performance ball screw provides 300N of thrust and an industry-first maximum speed of 300mm/s. At the same time, it also offers efficiency of 90% and above compared to conventional models (in other series made by Tsubaki Emerson). - Compact size and long life
High-performance ball screw provides product lifetime fifteen times longer than that of conventional models (Tsubakimoto Emerson findings). - Support for a variety of servo motors
Employs light, stiff disc couplings (Tsubakimoto Emerson product) made of extra super duralumin. Can be used with a variety of different servo motors.
