Introducing FB-Spec Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators & Thermal-Spray-Spec Replaceable Sprocket Blades
Introducing FB-Spec Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators & Thermal-Spray-Spec Replaceable Sprocket Blades
With twice the service life and low-noise operation
Tsubakimoto Chain Co. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan. President: Isamu Osa) announces the October 1, 2011, introduction of its proprietary FB-Specification Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators, which is used in conveying cement powder and other powders. This innovation results in low-noise operation and doubles the service life of the chain. Tsubakimoto Chain also introduces the Thermal-Spray-Specification Replaceable Sprocket Blades, which offers twice the service life with replaceable sprocket blades.

Example of use with bucket elevator |
Bucket elevators convey fly ash (a component of cement), coal, coke, and other highly abrasive materials that tend to migrate between the pins and bushings of the chain, causing accelerated wear that reduces the service life of the chain.
FB-Specification Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators has been designed to ensure lubrication between the pin and bushing. They employ an innovative structure that helps seal these components against contamination by the abrasive material being conveyed. This new design results in double the service life of the conventional design and reduces operational noise by an average of 2dB. In addition, the application of a special thermal spray process to the base of the replaceable sprocket blades has resulted in double the service life.

Features
- Superior service life compared with conventional components
FB-Specification Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators features a solid lubricant bonded to the inner surface of the chain bushing. An O-ring* is mounted between individual links to prevent the conveyed material from entering the link mechanism. At the same time, it retains the solid lubricant in place. This design suppresses wear between the pin and bushing (which contributes to pitch elongation), thus doubling the service life.
Our Thermal-Spray-Specification Replaceable Sprocket Blades* are manufactured with a quenching hardening treatment applied to the entire replaceable blade. In addition, a special thermal spray is applied to the base of the blades to increase wear resistance. These innovations contribute to a doubling of the service life.

- Low-noise operation (average 2dB reduction)
Thanks to the lubricating effect of the solid lubricant provided in FB-Specification Conveyor Chain for Tsubaki Bucket Elevators, bucket elevators can now feature low-noise operation with an average noise reduction of about 2dB. - Improved maintenance with replaceable sprocket blades
The Thermal-Spray-Specification Replaceable Sprocket Blade features a replaceable
sprocket-shaped blade that can be easily replaced when worn. As a result, both
the labor required for maintenance and overall replacement costs are reduced.
