Zip Chain Actuator Applications -- Problems and Solutions

We'll introduce some examples of how using Zip Chain Actuators can solve problems by application.

Zip Chain is a Tsubaki-original chain whose two strands come together like a zipper to form a single, strong column for push/pull applications. Tsubaki Zip Chain Actuators are linear actuator products that use Zip Chains.

Compared to traditional pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders, Zip Chains have many features, including environmental ones, such as great space savings, high speed/high frequency operation, multi-point stopping function, high stopping accuracy, and free installation direction. They are used in everything from small actuators to large lifters.

Stacking /unstacking applications

Before using Zip Chain Actuator...
  • They used a hydraulic cylinder to push up incoming products one by one and stack them from the bottom.
  • They installed the hydraulic cylinder by digging a pit.

Maintenance was hard as the drive section was in a pit...

  • A worker pushed and pulled the die-set manually.

Since die-sets are heavy, this manual operation was a major burden on the workers
