Environmental Approach

The Tsubaki Group is aiming to reduce environmental impacts (“Ecology”) and increase value for its customers (“Economy”) by developing eco-friendly products.

Tsubaki's Eco Products

What are Tsubaki's Eco-Products?

The Tsubaki Group, a manufacturer of machine parts and equipment, has created a string of unique environmentally friendly products with excellent durability, light weight, and power transmission capacity. Tsubaki products are developed under our own voluntary eco assessment standards. As of 2011, all new products are required to meet these standards. Products that clear the standards are called "eco-products" and are labeled with the Tsubaki Eco Link logo.

Tsubaki reflects "Eco & Eco"

With the aim of developing eco-friendly products capable of helping to reduce environmental impacts (“Ecology”) and increase value for our customers (“Economy”), the Tsubaki Group has established its own voluntary eco-friendly concepts consisting of seven items. This helps resolve productivity issues for example by tackling environmental considerations such as long service life by improving ease of maintenance and other ecological factors. Our eco assessment standards are prepared following these concepts, and products that meet these standards are referred to as eco-products.

Environmental Objective Product Specification Benefits
Resource conservation and waste reduction Recycling, reducing resource usage, and extending service life in order to conserve resources Compact/lightweight design, lube-free design, extended service life, waste reduction, recycling, residue elimination
Increased energy efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions Reduced CO2 emissions through increased energy efficiency Low friction, high efficiency, and compact/lightweight design
Cleaner workplaces & usage environments Contributing to improved workplace environments and usage environments for customers Lube-free design, low dust generation, spill prevention
Consideration for the environment Considering the area surrounding the customer’s worksite and the environment of the local community Pollution control, low noise, low vibration, reduced noxious odors
Easier disposal Supporting environmental considerations by improving waste recyclability and sortability Consistent use of materials and ease of disassembly
Reuse Recovery of used parts for later reuse Product reuse
Reduced use of hazardous substances Elimination of hazardous chemicals, including specific reductions at customer request Reduced use of hazardous chemicals and increased use of edible oils

Tsubaki's representative Eco products:

RS® Roller Chain G7-EX

The new series of RS roller chain makes full use of Tsubaki's materials, heat treatment, and processing technologies. Based on the type-80 RS Roller Chain, which provides the world's highest level of power transmission, the G7-EX employs proprietary LD solid bush technology (patent pending). With double the wear life and a 33% increase in transmission capacity compared to conventional chains, it can contribute to CO2 reductions of 49% (Tsubaki findings based on LCA comparison with RS80-1 chain).

Cableveyors are used for various applications in a wide range of industries such as the machine tool industry as protection and guidance systems for the moving parts, cables, and hoses that serve in industrial machinery.
Designed exclusively for use in clean rooms, the Cleanveyor® cable system represents an innovative departure from our conventional lineup. The Tsubaki Cleanveyor can be delivered with movable cables and pneumatic hoses pre-installed to meet specific customer requirements.

Eco & Eco Points
Maintenance of a clean usage environment and simplification of anti-dust and noise precaution requirements for equipment, lowering costs.
Dust production*1
Dust production measurement standards
Location: Inside of clean room (ISO Class 1 cleanliness)
Installation conditions: Standard installation (floor installation possible)
Operation speed: 120 m/min
No cable specification (only support members inserted into pods in Cleanveyor system) Dust production volume is defined as the number of particles over 0.1 μm in size in an area of 1 cubic foot.
*1 Graph data is the average from five measurements.
Noise production*2
Noise production measurement standards
Installation conditions: Standard installation (floor installation possible)
Operation speed: 100 m/min, Distance of measuring equipment from Cleanveyor: 500 mm
No cable specification (only support members inserted into pods in Cleanveyor system)
*2 Graph data is the average of the largest figures from five measurements.

Labo Stocker Mini

Labo Stocker Mini is a small drug discovery library system that is capable of storing up to 1 million items. Aside from being capable of managing various different types of containers such as vials, tubes, and plates, Labo Stocker Mini comes with a range of optional functions, including the ability to expand storage capacity to cater to increased numbers of specimens.

Eco & Eco Points
  • Takes up 60% less space while still offering the same capacity as previous Labo Stocker models. Space-saving size enables installation in small labs and standard buildings
  • Smaller air conditioner for temperature control lowers operating costs

Tsubaki NAB Aprovator® R Series

The Tsubaki NAB Aprovator is a bucket-chain conveyor suited for conveying abrasives, aggregates, and other difficult-to-handle materials via complicated (horizontal and vertical) routes. It also has the benefit of being able to prevent declines in transport performance due to adhesion when handling adhesive substances.

Eco & Eco Points
  • Rubber sheet at bottom of bucket moves in conjunction with bucket motion to prevent adhesion of contents
  • Low adhesion decreases energy loss, reduces cleaning frequency, and lessens environmental impact
  • Buckets interchangeable with existing NAB Aprovator models
