Leaf chain

Chain consisting of just plates and pins.
This chain is mainly used for lifting, counterweights, and motion drives.
Comes in two types: AL Series for light loads, and BL Series for heavy loads. Their dimensions and link plate formations are different.
Also called balance chain. JIS standard compliant.
※Special clevises and sheaves are required when using Leaf Chain.

Construction

・Leaf Chain consists of just link plates and pins.

The plates are connected by pins, which receive the tensile forces acting on the chain.

The outer plates form a press-fit with the pins, which are riveted.Meanwhile, the inner plates and middle plates form a slip fit with the pins.
The pins pass between the plates and receive the shear forces and slide within the inner plate hole when the chain articulates.

End fittings

The end of the leaf chain will be a connecting link, end link or inner link.

Note) End links AL8 and BL8 and larger can also be manufactured.

AL type

Mainly for light loads.

The outer shape and thickness of the plate are the same as the outer plate of the RS roller chain with the same pitch.

The diameter of the pin is almost the same as the pin of the RS roller chain with the same pitch.

The combination of plates is as follows.

BL type

Mainly for heavy loads.

The plate height dimension is the same as the inner plate of the RS roller chain of the same pitch, and the plate thickness is the same as the RS roller chain with a pitch one size larger.

The diameter of the pin is almost the same as the pin of the RS roller chain with a pitch one size larger.
