Opening Ceremony Held for Tsubakimoto Automotive Plant in Czech Republic
2017/10/24
Now operating 12 auto parts production facilities in eight countries
On October 18, 2017, Tsubakimoto Chain (President: Yasushi Ohara; Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka) held an opening ceremony for the new plant of Tsubakimoto Automotive Czech Republic s.r.o., a company established in July 2015.
This plant, designed to manufacture automotive engine-use timing chain drive systems, is the 12th such facility to be operated by Tsubakimoto Chain worldwide, adding to the company’s presence in Japan, the U.S.A., the U.K., Thailand, China, South Korea, and Mexico. Although Tsubakimoto U.K. Ltd. already produces/supplies this product line for the European market, this new facility was established in the Czech Republic to serve as a second European manufacturing base in order to accommodate growing sales to European automakers.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the mayor of Kolin, officials from the Business and Investment Development Agency CzechInvest, other Japanese companies located in the Czech Republic, and other companies with ties to the Tsubaki Group. A representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the mayor of Kolin thanked Tsubakimoto Chain for contributing to local employment and the development of local communities.
The new company will begin assembly of engine-use timing chains and transfer case chains for four-wheel drive vehicles at the end of the year. These products will be supplied to European automakers and primary parts makers.
