Tsubakimoto Chain Certified as Eco-First Company by Ministry of the Environment

Tsubakimoto Chain Co. (President: Takatoshi Kimura, Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka) was certified as an Eco-First Company on April 5, under the Eco-First Program established by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment. An Eco-First Commitment indicating the Tsubaki Group’s global environmental conservation aims and initiatives was submitted to the Minister of the Environment on the same day.
The Tsubaki Group recognizes that environmental conservation is one of the most important issues shared by humankind, and seriously considers the environment in all aspects of its global business activities and contributes to the “development of a sustainable society” by generating environmental value and economic value through manufacturing.
This Environmental Philosophy informs various proactive measures that the Group promotes, including:
1. Reducing CO2 emissions throughout the entire supply chain
2. Making effective use of resources through reuse and recycling
3. Preventing air and water pollution
4. Promoting the development and spread of eco-products
5. Promoting environmentally friendly management
By undertaking these initiatives, the Company takes substantial steps towards creating a positive impact on the environment.
*The Eco-First Program is a Japanese government initiative that was created in 2008. It invites companies to make voluntary commitments to the Minister of the Environment to participate in environmental conservation initiatives such as measures against global warming, proper waste disposal, and promotion of recycling.
Companies admitted into the program are recognized as advanced environmental leaders in their respective industries through innovative and original business practices. The program certifies them for their industry-leading efforts towards environmental sustainability.
